Adds QB Robert Gregory to Recruiting Class

LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue head coach Danny Hope announced that Robert
Gregory has signed to play for the Boilermakers. The 6-foot-3,
205-pound dual-threat quarterback from Simeon High School in Chicago
inked his National Letter of Intent on Wednesday, but delayed
announcing his decision until Friday with his high school classmates.

SWIMMING-DIVING DROPS BOTH SIDES OF RIVALRY DUAL AT INDIANA

Ind.– Guillermo Blanco and Rhiannon Sheets were each two-time
individual event winners and both Purdue swimming and diving teams
posted a relay win, but the Boilermakers dropped both sides of their
annual rivalry dual meet with Indiana Saturday afternoon.
On a
day in which the Big Ten Network televised a swimming and diving meet
live for the first time in its history, the No. 10 Indiana men defeated
No. 20 Purdue, 166-134. The No. 8 Indiana women were a 169-130 winner
over No. 18 Purdue.

EXTENDS HOPE'S CONTRACT FOR TWO ADDITIONAL YEARS

today that the University has extended head football coach Danny Hope’s

honors for the 2011 season, as voted by the conference coaches and

Junior

selected first team all-league in a vote by the conference coaches and
second team by the media.

Indiana on Saturday, the Purdue football team became bowl eligible for
the first time since 2007.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue’s Kawann Short and Bruce Gaston have been
recognized by the Big Ten Conference for their efforts in the
Boilermakers’ 26-23 overtime victory over Ohio State. Short was named
as the Co-Defensive Player of the Week and Gaston the Co-Special Teams
Player of the Week. It is the second POW honor of the season and the
third of his career for Short and the first ever for Gaston.

Raheem Mostert Named Big Ten Freshman of the Week
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue’s Raheem Mostert has been named the Nov.
7 Big Ten Freshman of the Week after turning in a record-setting
performance last weekend at No. 19 Wisconsin. The weekly honor is the
first in Mostert’s career and the second for a Purdue player this
season (Kawann Short, Oct. 23 Co-Defensive POW).

Q. First off, you're playing a Wisconsin team that's had two
heartbreaking losses on the road, still very formidable. Talk
about the problems they present.
COACH HOPE: They're a great football
team. That's a
tough place to play at. They're still the same from a run
standpoint where they can come out and get after you with the power run
game, they have a great offensive line that's dominant at
times
and loaded with good running backs. That part of them hasn't
changed offensively.

news on Wednesday as he was announced as one of 16 football players
named as recipients of the NFF National Scholar-Athlete Awards and also
one of 20 semifinalists for the 2011 Ronnie Lott IMPACT Trophy.

Caleb TerBush passed for 178 yards and two touchdowns to help Purdue
upset No. 23 Illinois 21-14 on Saturday afternoon.
Raheem Mostert ran for a touchdown and tackled the punter on a play
that led to another score for the Boilermakers (4-3, 2-1 Big Ten). It
was Purdue's first victory over a ranked team since beating No. 7 Ohio
State in 2009.

another score to help Purdue beat Minnesota 45-17 on Saturday.
Caleb TerBush completed 14 of 21 passes for 140 yards and a score and
O.J. Ross caught five passes for 63 yards and a TD for the Boilermakers
(3-2, 1-0 Big Ten).

touchdown to help Notre Dame defeat Purdue 38-10 on Saturday night.

I guess the first question, having the bye week, what was the focus in
terms of what you wanted to get accomplished in the bye week and how
did that turn out?
COACH HOPE: The bye week, the bye week went very
well for us. We think we got done what said set out to get
done. We wanted to give them some reps first, so after the SE
Missouri game, they had sun afternoon off, all of Monday, all of
Tuesday, all of Wednesday to give them a chance to fuel up a little
bit, freshen up a little bit, get away, get some personal
time.

They're a very physical football team and an experienced football
team. They have a lot of players back. They're
similar to us in some ways, as far as last season goes. They
thought they could have a good football team in the season last year
possibly and had a lot of
injuries. I think they had three or four starting

kind of problems do they present?
COACH HOPE: They're a good football team.
Obviously they've won the last couple years. They've had some

the defensive side of the ball they're real big in regards to bringing
pressure, a lots of blitzes. They'll hang their hat on trying
to disrupt your offensive front.

COLUMBIA,
Mo.– Purdue women’s soccer took an early lead and later pulled within a
goal in the second half, but Missouri answered both scores and tacked
on two additional goals, defeating the Boilers, 4-2, Sunday afternoon.
Purdue (1-3) received goals from seniors Alexis Tryba and Kaitlyn
Blacha, ending a scoring drought of 230 consecutive minutes after
getting shutout in back-to-back games since winning its season opener.

BOUDIA NAMED JESSE OWENS MALE BIG TEN ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

Ill. – Purdue’s David Boudia has been voted the Jesse Owens Male Big
Ten Athlete of the Year for the 2010-11 school year, becoming the first
diver to win the award and only the second Purdue male student-athlete
to be honored.
Boudia joins former basketball standout Glenn Robinson as the only
Boilermakers to win the Jesse Owens Award since its inception in 1982.
Robinson was recognized as the top male athlete in the conference in
1993-94, a year in which he was also selected first overall in the NBA

BOUDIA & GOLFER GULYANAMITTA SELECTED PURDUE ATHLETES OF THE
YEAR
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.– Junior diver David Boudia and senior golfer Numa
Gulyanamitta have been named Purdue's Athletes of the Year for the
2010-11 school year. They were selected by a vote of athletics
department administrators from a pool of candidates made up of each
sport's Most Valuable Player or similar designee.
Boudia and Gulyanamitta will now represent the Boilermakers in the
voting for the Big Ten Conference Athlete of the Year awards. Boudia is
in the running for the Big Ten Jesse Owens Athlete of the Year award,
and Gulyanamitta is up for the Big Ten Suzy Favor Athlete of the Year
award.
