Qualifies for 2012 London Olympic Games
Lincoln,
Neb. – Five-time All-American Chantae McMillan qualified for the 2012
London Olympic Games on Saturday at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
McMillan tallied a total of 6,188 points to finish third in the
standings and secure her first Olympic bid.

Texas- The Nebraska track and field team wrapped-up competition at the
NCAA West Preliminary Round in Austin, Texas on Saturday with an
addition of five athletes and the men’s 4x100 meter relay team
qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Des
Moines, Iowa- The Nebraska track and field team returned to Drake
Stadium on Friday for the second day of competition at the Drake
Relays. Morgan Wilken led the Huskers as she notched the team’s first
event title of the weekend in the women’s discus.

Record Eight Event Titles at K.T. Woodman Classic
Wichita,
Kan.- The Nebraska track and field team wrapped up competition at the
K.T. Woodman Classic on Saturday on the campus of Wichita State
University. The Huskers came away with eight event titles on the day,
including sweeps in the pole vault and shot put.

Throwers Power NU at Sun Angel Classic
Tempe,
Ariz. – The Nebraska track and field team continued its streak on the
road with competition at the Sun Angel Classic in Tempe, Ariz., over
the weekend. The Huskers pulled in three titles on the day, all of
which came in the throws events.

Notches Big Ten Award
Lincoln,
Neb. - Nebraska senior Chris Phipps was honored by the Big Ten
Conference on Wednesday after being selected as the Big Ten Co-Field
Athlete-of-the-Week. The accolade marks his first Big Ten outdoor track
and field weekly award.

Runners Shine at Iowa State Classic
Ames,
Iowa- The Nebraska track and field team completed competition at the
Iowa State Classic Saturday afternoon in Ames, Iowa. The Huskers’ were
led by distance runners Ashley Miller and Jessica Furlan, who both took
home event titles.

Named Meet’s Most Valuable Female Performer
Lincoln,
Neb. - The 37th running of the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational came
to a close on Saturday afternoon at the Devaney Center Indoor Track
with one meet record broken and nine event titles earned by the
Huskers. Nebraska senior Ashley Miller was named the Most Valuable
Female Performer as Wisconsin’s Japheth Cato was named the Most
Valuable Male Performer.

Men Win Mark Colligan Memorial
Lincoln,
Neb. - The Nebraska Track and Field team honored former assistant coach
Mark Colligan as the Huskers competed in the first Mark Colligan
Memorial at the Devaney Center Indoor Track on Saturday afternoon.
The
Husker men finished first in the team rankings with 152.50 total
points, while Illinois was second with 143.50 points. The Husker women
came in third (123.50), as Michigan was first (161.50) and Illinois was
second (133).

Pinkelman Earn Big Ten Honors
Lincoln,
Neb.- Nebraska seniors Ashley Miller and Luke Pinkelman were honored by
the Big Ten Conference on Monday after being selected as the Big Ten
Female Track and Male Field Athletes-of-the-Week. The accolade marks
the first Big Ten Indoor Track and Field weekly award for both Miller
and Pinkelman.

- The Nebraska track and field team will open the 2012 indoor season
with both the men's and women's teams ranked in the United States Track
and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association top 25.

Head
cross country coach and track and field distance coach Dave Harris was
honored for his long service and dedication to the U.S. Track &
Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) at the
organization's convention last week in San Antonio, Texas.

Huskers Named AVCA All-Americans
Lincoln
– Four Nebraska volleyball players were honored Wednesday morning, as
the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its 2011
All-America team. Junior outside hitter Gina Mancuso led the charge as
a first-team selection, while junior outside hitter Hannah Werth,
sophomore right side hitter Morgan Broekhuis and junior setter Lauren
Cook were chosen as honorable-mention selections.

Conclude Intrasquad Action

Neb.- The Nebraska track and field team wrapped up its annual
intrasquad meet on Friday night at the Devaney Center Indoor Track,
after six events were completed on Thursday evening. The White team
earned the victory by beating the Red team 132-100. Both teams saw
eight athletes break five meet records over the two nights of
competition.

Open NCAA Tournament with Jackson State
The
No. 2 Nebraska volleyball team (24-4, 17-3 Big Ten) will open the NCAA
Tournament at home for the eighth straight season on Thursday night
when it hosts the Jackson State Tigers (26-9, 8-0 SWAC) at the NU
Coliseum.

Huskers Earn All-Big Ten Honors

– Five Nebraska volleyball players were honored Tuesday, as the 2011
All-Big Ten team was announced. Nebraska and Penn State had a
league-best three first-team honorees apiece, as Lauren Cook, Gina
Mancuso and Hannah Werth claimed first-team selections, while Morgan
Broekhuis and Brooke Delano received honorable-mention accolades. In
addition, Brigette Root was selected as a Sportsmanship Award honoree.

performance from I-back Rex Burkhead, as Nebraska picked up its ninth

The
No. 4 Nebraska volleyball team will host the Wisconsin Badgers on
Saturday, Nov. 19 at the NU Coliseum at 7 p.m. The match will air live
on NET and BTN.com.
The Huskers (22-3, 15-2) topped No. 19 Minnesota 3-1 (17-25,
25-17, 25-15, 25-16) on Wednesday night.

Named Lott Trophy Semifinalist
Nebraska
senior linebacker Lavonte David was one of eight players named a
semifinalist for the Lott IMPACT Trophy on Wednesday. The Lott Trophy
is presented annually to college football's Defensive IMPACT Player of
the Year.

No. 2 Nebraska volleyball team travels to take on the Indiana Hoosiers

Volleyball Ranked No. 1 in AVCA Poll
Lincoln – The Nebraska volleyball team moved up to No. 1 in the latest
AVCA Coaches poll released Monday afternoon. The Huskers, who improved
to 17-1 on the year following a 4-1 win over previously top-ranked
Illinois on Saturday night, had a total of 1,448 points and received 38
of the 60 first-place votes.

Roll at Minnesota
Minneapolis, Minn. - No. 13 Nebraska scored on all five of its
offensive possessions in the first half and added a defensive score to
jump to a 34-0 halftime lead on its way to a 41-14 victory at Minnesota
on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, which came in front of 49,187 fans at TCF Bank Stadium
and an ABC television audience, the Huskers improved to 6-1 overall and
2-1 in the Big Ten. The Golden Gophers slipped to 1-6 overall and 0-3
in the conference.

Lincoln, Neb. - The No. 4 Nebraska volleyball team (16-1, 9-0) made
quick work of Iowa on Wednesday night, sweeping the Hawkeyes 3-0
(25-14, 25-14, 25-11). With the victory, Nebraska remained undefeated
in conference play.

Storm Back for 34-27 Win Over Buckeyes
Lincoln, Neb. - Darkness had long since fallen,
and the rain was falling steadily in Memorial Stadium on Saturday
night. A hush had also fallen over the more than 85,000 strong after
visiting Ohio State went up 27-6 early in the third quarter.

Effort Boosts Nebraska Over Purdue
Lincoln,
Neb.- The No. 6 Nebraska volleyball team (12-1, 5-0) propelled itself
over the No. 11 Purdue Boilermakers in a 3-1 (25-22, 20-25, 25-14,
25-22) win Friday night at the NU Coliseum. The Huskers, who remained
undefeated in Big Ten Conference play, produced one of their most
balanced efforts of the season, with five plays notching over 20
attacks for the match. NU also saw five different players tally 10 or
more digs through all four sets.

Overcome Spartans, Stay Undefeated in Conference Play
East Lansing, Mich. - The No. 7 Nebraska
volleyball team (10-1) outlasted the Michigan State Spartans 3-2
(27-25, 16-25, 21-25, 25-17, 16-14) on Saturday night in front of 2,024
fans at Jenison Fieldhouse. With the victory, the Huskers improved to
3-0 in conference play.

Huskers Boot Cowboys
Laramie,
Wyo. - Junior I-back Rex Burkhead rushed for a career-high 170 yards
and a pair of touchdowns to carry No. 9 Nebraska to a 38-14 victory at
previously unbeaten Wyoming on Saturday night in Laramie.
Burkhead's career-best performance marked his second straight 100-yard
rushing effort and sixth of his career and included scoring runs of 45
and 16 yards to power the Huskers to a 4-0 start to the 2011 season.
Burkhead's impressive rushing total came on just 15 carries, as NU's
most experienced back averaged 11.3 yards per tote on the night against
the Cowboys. His previous career high was 129 yards at Iowa State in
2010.

Track Adds Two Academic All-Americans
Lincoln – After the
Nebraska men’s track and field team produced a nation-high five CoSIDA
Academic All-Americans on Tuesday, Head Coach Gary Pepin had two
members of his women’s team named to the Capital One Academic
All-America Women’s Track and Field/Cross Country Team on Thursday.
Senior Natalie Willer was named to the first team after earning
third-team accolades last season, while junior Ashley Miller was a
second-team selection.

Tie School Record with Five CoSIDA Academic All-Americans
Lincoln - The Nebraska track and field team continued the academic
success of Nebraska Athletics on Tuesday with the release of the
Capital One Academic All-America Men’s Track and Field/Cross Country
Teams as five Huskers were honored. The men’s track and field team now
has a total of 19 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans and has produced 14
Academic All-Americans since 2002 when the track and field/cross
country team was created after it was part of the men’s at-large
program prior to the 2002 season.

All-America Total Grows to Five
Des Moines, Iowa – Cool temperatures and rain hit Drake Stadium for the
second straight day on Friday, causing a delay that lasted nearly an
hour late in the day. The Huskers
added their third, fourth and fifth All-America honors of the meet with
top-eight finishes from seniors
Paul Hamilton and Natalie Willer, as well freshman Mara Griva. NU
totaled five All-Americans at the meet as
it also produced two All- Americans on Wednesday with a pair of
top-eight finishes by Chad Wright
and Tyler Hitchler in the
men’s discus.

Head to Iowa for Nationals
Lincoln - The Nebraska track and field team will make a short trip to
Des Moines, Iowa, for the NCAA
Outdoor Championships, which starts on Wednesday, June 8. The four-day
meet will be held on the blue oval
at Drake Stadium and will start at Noon (CT) on both Wednesday and
Thursday, 3 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m.
on Saturday. Both ncaa.com and godrakebulldogs.com will provide a live
stream of the meet, while CBS
Sports Network will have live coverage from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday
and CBS will show the meet live from
Noon-2 p.m. on Saturday.

Duo Captures All-America Honors
Des Moines, Iowa – The Nebraska track and field team opened the NCAA
Outdoor Championships on
Wednesday at Drake Stadium with eight athletes in completion, with two
Huskers coming away with All-
America honors. It was a tough opening of the meet for the Huskers as
assistant coach Mark Colligan passed
away earlier in the day.

Drafted In NFL Draft
Six Huskers Selected Saturday; Seven Overall Selections Most for
Nebraska in 10 Years
Running back Roy Helu Jr. was the first Nebraska player taken on the
third day of the National Football League Draft, going to the
Washington Redskins in the fourth round. Five more Huskers were
selected Saturday, including two additional players headed to
Washington.
After Helu's selection, place-kicker/punter Alex Henery also went in
the fourth round to the Philadelphia Eagles with the 120th overall
pick. Henery's selection is the highest for any kicker in the past five
