Golden Gophers set several pool records as they secured dual meet
victories against Denver and Wyoming at El Pomar Natatorium. The Gopher
men beat host Denver 193-122, and beat Wyoming 219.5-95.5. Minnesota’s
women captured a 179-136 win against the Pioneers and a 225-90 win

Hoops Season to Get Underway at “Gopher

Marcus Williams had two defensive touchdowns for North Dakota State on

Williams, a sophomore cornerback who played at Hopkins High School in

returned an interception of Max Shortell's late heave 40 yards for a
touchdown to seal the game.

Coach Jerry Kill returned to the Minnesota sideline one week after
suffering a seizure during a game and watched Marqueis Gray rack up 334
total yards in a 29-23 victory over Miami (Ohio).
Gray threw for 163 yards and rushed for 171 more and Duane Bennett
blocked a punt and returned it for a TD to hand Kill his first victory
as coach of the Golden Gophers.

Released from Hospital
University of Minnesota football coach Jerry Kill was discharged from
the hospital today and is now resting at home, according to Gopher
football team physician Dr. Pat Smith. Dr. Smith said that Kill was
released during the lunch hour Thursday.

Kill Announces Roster Changes
University of Minnesota head football coach Jerry Kill announced the
signing of two student-athletes to Big Ten scholarship tenders Friday.
Kill also announced the departure of two student-athletes from the
Gopher football program.
Wide receiver Malcolm Moulton (Lawrenceville, Ga.), a transfer from
Fort Scott (Kan.) Community College, has signed with the Gophers. Also
signing to play for Minnesota is quarterback Dexter Foreman of Manvel
(Texas) High School. Both Moulton and Foreman are slated to be with the
team for fall camp in August.
