Hoosiers Start Season with Pair of Victories
 
Indiana head coach Ramiro Azcui knew the Hoosiers first tennis match of the dual season was going to be emotional. The match against Western Michigan featured a matchup against Azcui's daughter, Denise, who plays for Western Michigan.

 

 

Fouls and Turnovers Doom the Hoosiers in their Loss to No. 15 UC Davis
 
The Hoosiers and the Aggies exchanged multiple lead changes, but multiple fouls against IU gave the Aggies many scoring opportunities, and they defeated Indiana 8-7

  

 

No. 15 Indiana Makes a Statement, Topples No. 13 Michigan 10-5
 
The No. 15 Indiana women’s water polo team made a big statement Saturday night, defeating rival Michigan, the No. 13 ranked team in the country, by a decisive 10-5 margin in the Canham Natatorium in Ann Arbor, Mich.

 

   

Hoosiers Take Down Duke & Cleveland State
 
Hoosier Wrestling (2-0) notched a pair of dual match victories on Sunday, sweeping a home tri-meet with Duke and Cleveland State. Indiana started with a 22-15 win over the Blue Devils (1-2) and finished by topping CSU (0-2) by a final tally of 25-10.

 

 

2014 IU Baseball Schedule Release
 
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University Baseball program released its 2014 schedule, highlighted by 23 home games at Bart Kaufman Field.
 
In addition to the 24-game Big Ten slate, Indiana is also scheduled to take the field for 29 non-conference tilts versus schools representing 11 different conferences.

   

   

Big Ten Tournament Title Goes to Indiana
 
MINNEAPOLIS - Indiana Baseball (43-14) won the 2013 Big Ten Tournament Championship, topping Nebraska 4-3 in walk-off fashion. The 11th-ranked Hoosiers notched a conference clean sweep, also capturing the Big Ten’s regular season title.

 

 

IU Pounces On Gophers Early in 4-2 Triumph
 
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Top-seeded Indiana Baseball lurched out to an early three-run lead in the top of the first inning and never looked back in a 4-2 victory over Minnesota (31-21). Starting pitcher Aaron Slegers surrendered a lone run in seven innings of work to earn his Big Ten-leading ninth win of the season.

 

 

IU Baseball Wins Big Ten Title Outright With 8-1 Win at Ohio State
 
COLUMBUS, Ohio - For the first time since 1932, Indiana won the outright Big Ten baseball title by clinically dispatching Ohio State, 8-1, on the road.  The Hoosiers (40-13, 17-7), handled the Buckeyes (34-21, 15-9) behind a masterful pitching performance from Kyle Hart and strong offensive production out of the gate.


Indiana Wins CWPA Western Division Championship for the First Time in School History
 
GENEVA, Ohio – The No. 3 seed Indiana water polo team made history Saturday morning by claiming the school’s first ever Western Conference Championship with a 12-11 thrilling victory over No. 1 seed Hartwick at the Myrtha Pool.

IU Splits Double Dip at Georgia Southern

     

STATESBORO, Ga. - Game One took three days to complete thanks to Mother Nature and didn’t go well for IU before the Hoosiers (3-2) evened the trip to Georgia State with an 11-5 victory over the Eagles (4-2) in Game Two. A scheduled third game to the series had to be cancelled after a pair of suspensions stretched out the opener over a three-day span.

 

 

Indiana Earns Men’s Soccer Weekly Awards
 
PARK RIDGE, Ill. – Indiana has earned both Big Ten men’s soccer weekly honors as announced on Monday. Eriq Zavaleta takes home his second consecutive Offensive Player of the Week honor, while Luis Soffner earns the nod on the defensive end.

 

 

Six Hoosiers Notch ACWPC All-Academic Honors
 
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Six members of the Indiana Hoosiers women’s water polo team have been honored with 2012 Women’s All-Academic Awards for their achievements during the past season, announced by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC).

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The No. 3 seed Indiana Hoosiers women’s water polo team (26-9) fell in the quarterfinals of the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Eastern Championship to No. 6 seed Brown, 5-4, after giving up the lone fourth period goal to the Bears with 3:22 remaining.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Four-time All-American Joe LeBlanc has been hired as an assistant coach for the Indiana University wrestling program, announced head coach Duane Goldman on Thursday.

   

   

MSU Sweeps Doubleheader, Takes Series
 
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - It was a rough day at the ballpark for Indiana Baseball on Sunday as the visiting Michigan State Spartans (22-12, 5-4 Big Ten) swept a doubleheader and took the series. The Hoosiers fall to 16-20 overall and 6-6 in conference play.

 

   

Grand Slam Buries Hoosiers In Rubber Match

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Indiana Baseball lost its first series of the Big Ten season on Sunday, dropping the rubber match to Illinois, 11-6. The Hoosiers are now 14-18 overall and 5-4 in Big Ten play. Meanwhile, the Fighting Illini improve to 17-12 and even their conference mark at 3-3.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Justin Cureton’s walk-off single in the bottom of the 15th inning ended a five-plus hour affair at Sembower Field Wednesday afternoon/evening.

  

   

Hot Start Fizzles In 11-3 Loss to Xavier
  
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - All nine Hoosier batters made their way to the plate in the first inning as Indiana  (10-15) jumped out to a 3-0 lead over Xavier (9-15). It was all Musketeers from there though, scoring the next 11 runs and leaving Bloomington with an 11-3 victory.

DeNato Tabbed Big Ten Pitcher of the Week
   
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Sophomore left-hander Joey DeNato has been named Pitcher of the Week in the Big Ten for the week ending March 18.

   

   

No. 11 Indiana Dominates Wagner, 10-3
 
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The No. 11 Indiana Hoosiers women’s water polo team (20-7, 1-1 CWPA West) cruised past Wagner, 10-3, to wrap up play at the Aztec Invitational on Sunday. The victory marks the fifth consecutive 20-plus win season for head coach Barry King and the Hoosiers and the 13th in 15 seasons.

    

   

11 Innings, One Win for IU at San Diego
 
SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Indiana Baseball picked up a hard-fought, 11-inning victory over San Diego (14-5) on Wednesday. There were four lead changes and four tied scores in the see-saw battle. Sophomore reliever Matt Dearden closed the door for IU, allowing just one hit over the final three innings of the ballgame.

  

   

Hoosier Offense Breaks Loose in 12-7 Win Over Pittsburgh

   

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Indiana Baseball exploded for 12 runs in eight innings on Sunday, dumping the Pittsburgh Panthers by a final score of 12-7. The game was called an inning early as both teams had flights to catch.

   

   

Hoosiers Sweep Three-Matches

   

RALEIGH/BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - The Indiana University wrestling team improved to 11-7 on the season with three straight wins on Sunday. Indiana headed south to defeat North Carolina State, VMI and Gardner-Webb by a combined score of 106-31.

   

   

No. 9 Indiana Drops Concordia, 9-4
 
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The No. 9 Indiana Hoosiers women's water polo team (3-1) opened play at the UCSB Winter Invite with a 9-4 victory against Concordia (Calif.) on Saturday led by a career-high-tying four goals from sophomore Shae Fournier.

   

     

No. 10 Indiana Outlasts Colorado State, 9-6
 
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 10 Indiana Hoosiers women's water polo team used a four-goal fourth quarter to defeat Colorado State and wrap up play at the Michigan Kick-Off on Sunday. Indiana (2-1) is off to its best start since the 2007 season.

   

   

2012 Indiana Women's Water Polo Season Preview
   
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The No. 10 Indiana Hoosiers women’s water polo team enters the 2012 season having graduated seven seniors from a squad that captured the program’s second Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Eastern Championship, finished sixth at the NCAA Championship and won a school record-tying 26 games in 2011.

   

   

Walsh Downs Another Ranked Foe as IU Falls to #2 Iowa, 26-12

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.- Matt Powless and Ryan LeBlanc each tallied their team-leading 21st victories of the season Friday night as the Hoosiers (6-2, 0-2) were defeated by #2 Iowa (7-0, 2-0), 26-12, in the Big Ten home opener. Indiana’s Taylor Walsh was also triumphant Friday night, topping his second nationally-ranked foe of the season for his 19th win overall.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.- Seniors Matt Ortega and Matt Powless remain in the competition following Day One of the Southern Scuffle, each battling to finish as high as third place.

 

   

No. 13 Indiana Rallies to Defeat No. 2 Ohio State 74-70

Indiana did it again. Three weeks after upsetting No. 1 Kentucky, the Hoosiers took down No. 2 Ohio State.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Indiana is starting to make a habit of beating these highly ranked teams.

On Saturday, they didn't need a buzzer-beating shot to win, and they didn't even storm the court afterward.

  

   

Hoosiers Handed First Defeat of Season by #7 Ohio State

 

COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Indiana University wrestling team (6-1) suffered its first defeat of the season on Sunday, dropping the conference opener at #7 Ohio State (7-0) by the final score of 31-9. Matt Powless and Taylor Walsh were each winners in their bouts.

   

   

Cats Fall at Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Indiana finally has the horses to beat top-ranked Kentucky.

Christian Watford's buzzer-beating 3-pointer from the left wing stood up to a replay review Saturday night, giving the Hoosiers a stunning 73-72 upset.

   

   

Hoosier Baseball Adds Eight During Early Signing Period

   

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University baseball program has signed eight future student-athletes to National Letters of Intent for the 2012-13 school year. The class spans across the country with the signees coming from eight different states.
   

   

Hoosiers Sweep IU Quad

   

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.- Indiana began the 2011-12 dual match schedule by downing three opponents Friday night by a combined score of 121-18 at the IU Quad. The Hoosiers went undefeated at six of the 10 weight classes, including a three-fall performance by redshirt freshman Taylor Walsh at 149 pounds.

   

   

Walsh Takes First, Three More Place at MSU Open

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.- Redshirt freshman Taylor Walsh took to the mat five times at the Michigan State Open, and had his hand raised five times as he earned the 149-pound title. Walsh was joined on the stand by three other Hoosier placers: Ryen Nieman (133 lbs.), Matt Ortega (141 lbs.) and Ryan LeBlanc (174 lbs.).

  

 

Indiana Heads to Wisconsin for Big Ten Road Opener

   

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Hitting the road for the first time in Big Ten play, the Indiana football team (1-5, 0-2 Big Ten) faces No. 4 Wisconsin (5-0, 1-0 Big Ten) at Camp Randall Stadium (80,123) on Saturday, Oct. 15. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CDT/noon EDT and ESPN2 will broadcast the game.
   
IU is facing its third straight Leaders Division opponent. The Badgers swept through their non-conference slate and kicked off league play with a 48-17 victory over No. 8 Nebraska on Oct. 1. UW has won eight consecutive Big Ten games and 12 straight regular season contests. 

   

   

Alex Dickerson Corrals All-American Honors Once Again
               

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) recognized Indiana's Alex Dickerson  as an All-American this week, placing him on the second team. It marks Dickerson's second All-America accolade, earning first team honors following the 2010 season.

Indiana head coach Tracy Smith has now guided at least one Hoosier to All-America status in four consecutive years. Josh Phegley did so in 2008 and 2009, Eric Arnett in 2009 and Dickerson the past two seasons.

Earlier this month, the Poway, Calif., native was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates with the first pick of the third round.  

   

   

 Wrestling's 2011-12 Recruiting Class Ranked 23rd Nationally
   
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ‐ Head Wrestling Coach Duane Goldman and his staff have bolstered the 2011‐12
roster, bringing in eight wrestlers for the 23rd‐ranked class according to Intermat's national rankings. The group has wrestlers from five different states, including four native Hoosiers from the state of Indiana. The collective group owns a combined four state championships and 10 state place finishes. The Open Mat, another highly‐regarded amateur wrestling publication, also tabbed the newest Hoosiers as a top‐25 class.
        
   

Köhli Earns All‐Star Honors as Hoosier Trio Competes in Canadian Senior Nationals

WINNIPEG, MB, Canada – Three members of the Indiana Hoosiers women’s water polo team participated in the 2011 Canadian Senior National Club Championships on May 27‐29 at the Pan Am Pool in Winnipeg, MB.
Jakie Köhli and Meghan Lappan competed for the Pacific Storm, while Shae Fournier played for the Winnipeg Bushido club team.
