Fournier, Taylor Earn Gold at Canadian 22-Under National Club Championships

SK, Canada – Rising junior Shae Fournier and rising sophomore Shelby
Taylor of the Indiana women’s water polo team helped lead the Calgary
Renegades to a gold medal at the Canadian 22-Under Women’s National
Club Championships on May 25-27 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The
duo played a key role throughout the tournament for the Renegades,
lighting up the scoreboard to the tune of 12 goals apiece en route to a
perfect 5-0 record. The squad notched a 4-0 mark in pool
play, followed by a 13-4 victory over Dollard Water Polo Club in the
gold medal game on Sunday. The Renegades were dominant, outscoring the
opposition by a combined 69-27 in the five-game slate. Fournier
was selected to the All-Star Team after her performance, which included
five goals during a 20-9 win over Team Saskatchewan during pool play. Both players recorded multiple goals in four out of five contests. Rising sophomore Alynn Reade also competed in the event, earning a bronze medal with the Calgary Renegades B team. Reade finished the tournament with five goals, including two in the bronze medal game win over Team Saskatchewan.
