Jake Edwards Named Big Ten Runner of the Week
Shares weekly honors with Michael Brice of Wisconsin
COLUMBUS,
Ohio – Ohio State senior Jake Edwards was named Big Ten Runner of the
Week by the conference office after his first-place showing at the
Appalachian State Mountaineer Open last Friday. Edwards
picked up the first individual title of his Buckeye career with a
6.4-kilometer time of 19:28, helping the Buckeyes to an easy team
victory at the season-opening meet. Wisconsin’s Michael Brice
joined Edwards as co-Runner of the Week after a first-place performance
at the Orange and Blue Preview.
The
weekly honor is the first of senior’s career and the first for a
Buckeye runner since Jeff See took home the award in Oct. 2009.
