EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern outfielder Luke Dauch (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Lahser) has been named the Big Ten Baseball Co-Freshman of the Week the conference office announced Monday. He shares the honor with Illinois pitcher John Kravetz.

Dauch hit safely in each of his first three collegiate games, including posting a pair of multi-hit games. He posted a .714 batting average, a .778 on-base percentage and a 1.286 slugging percentage.

Dauch had two hits and a stolen base against West Virginia on Friday. In Saturday's comeback victory over Pittsburgh on Saturday, Dauch went 2-for-2 with a double, a triple, two runs scored and two RBI as the Wildcats came back from six runs down to post a 12-11 win in 10 innings.

He finished up the weekend on Sunday against Seton Hall with a double, two walks, a stolen base and a run scored.

Northwestern (1-2) returns to action Friday when it opens a four-game series at Cal State Northridge.
