Dauch Tabbed Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week
Outfielder went 5-for-7 at the plate with three extra-base hits
EVANSTON,
Ill. - Northwestern outfielder Luke Dauch (Bloomfield Hills,
Mich./Lahser) has been named the Big Ten Baseball Co-Freshman of the
Week the conference office announced Monday. He shares the honor with
Illinois pitcher John Kravetz.
Dauch hit safely in each of his
first three collegiate games, including posting a pair of multi-hit
games. He posted a .714 batting average, a .778 on-base percentage and
a 1.286 slugging percentage.
Dauch had two hits and a stolen
base against West Virginia on Friday. In Saturday's comeback victory
over Pittsburgh on Saturday, Dauch went 2-for-2 with a double, a
triple, two runs scored and two RBI as the Wildcats came back from six
runs down to post a 12-11 win in 10 innings.
He finished up the weekend on Sunday against Seton Hall with a double, two walks, a stolen base and a run scored.
Northwestern (1-2) returns to action Friday when it opens a four-game series at Cal State Northridge.
